Eligibility Conditions

  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess the minimum educational qualifications (Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent) as on the closing date of online submission of applications (14.10.2025). Candidates awaiting final results are NOT eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: Age will be reckoned as on 01.01.2026.
    • For 7th CPC Level 6 (Graduate level Post), Date of Birth of candidates should be between the dates given below (both dates inclusive):
      • UR & EWS: Not earlier than 02.01.1993
      • OBC-NCL: Not earlier than 02.01.1990
      • SC/ST: Not earlier than 02.01.1988
      • Lower Limit for all categories: Not later than 01.01.2006
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable for various categories as per government rules. Key relaxations include:
    • OBC-Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 3 Years
    • SC/ST: 5 Years
    • Ex-Servicemen: 3 Years (after deduction of length of service)
    • Serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff: UR&EWS-40 years, OBC-NCL-43 years, SC/ST-45 years.
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): UR&EWS-10 years, OBC-NCL-13 years, SC/ST-15 years.
  • Medical Standards: Candidates must pass requisite medical fitness test(s). For Medical Standard A-2, requirements include Distant Vision 6/9,6/9 without glasses (no fogging test), Near Vision Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses, and passing tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, and Myopic vision. Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or other refractive error correction are NOT eligible for posts with Medical Standard A-2.
  • Nationality/Citizenship: A citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (before 1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with intention of permanent settlement in India.

Application Process

  • Online Submission: Applications must be submitted ONLINE ONLY through the official RRB websites. Candidates must apply to only one RRB. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of all applications.
  • Create an Account: Candidates must first 'Create an Account'. If an account was created for earlier RRB CENs (2024 & 2025), use the same credentials. Details filled in the 'Create an Account' form (including mobile number and Email ID) cannot be modified later.
  • Identity Authentication: Candidates are strongly advised to authenticate their identity using Digi Locker or Aadhaar during the 'Create an Account' process.
  • Live Photo Capturing: The application module is designed to capture a live photograph of the candidate. Candidates should dress in non-white (preferably dark) clothing, position themselves correctly, and avoid caps, masks, or glasses/spectacles. Pre-existing photographs are not allowed.
  • Scanned Documents (Mandatory):
    • Candidate Signature: JPG/JPEG format, 30-49KB, min. 140x60 pixels, black ink on white paper, running handwriting (not block/capital/disjoined).
    • SC/ST Certificate: (For candidates requesting Free Train Travel Pass) PDF format, less than 400KB, legible, latest and valid as on the closing date of online application.

Examination Fee

  • For all candidates (except fee concession categories): Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 will be refunded on appearing in 1st Stage CBT, after deducting bank charges).
  • For Female/Transgender/Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class (EBC)/PwBD: Rs. 250 (Full Rs. 250 will be refunded on appearing in 1st Stage CBT, after deducting bank charges).
  • Mode of Payment: ONLINE only (internet banking, debit/credit cards, UPI).

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process involves the following stages:

  1. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
    • Duration: 120 minutes
    • Total Questions: 100
    • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for each wrong answer.
    • Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. (Applicable to Ex-servicemen as per their community. May be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD in case of shortage).
  2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):
    • Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted from CBT.
    • Must produce Vision Certificate (Annexure VI) in original during CBAT.
    • Qualifying marks: Minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery (no relaxation).
    • No negative marking.
    • Merit list for DV will be based on 70% weightage from CBT and 30% weightage from CBAT for CBAT-qualified candidates.
  3. Document Verification (DV):
    • Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for DV based on combined merit (70% CBT + 30% CBAT).
    • Candidates must submit all original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies.
    • Certificates for reservation/age-relaxation must be issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format and dated on or before the closing date of application.
  4. Medical Examination: Conducted by Railway Administration to ensure medical fitness for the opted post.

Reservation and Concessions

  • Vertical Reservation: Applicable for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC)-Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
  • OBC-NCL Certificate: Must be in the prescribed format (Annexure II), issued on or after April 01, 2025, but not later than the closing date of the Online Application. Must explicitly state "does NOT belong to the creamy layer."
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): Annual family gross income below Rs. 8 Lakh for the financial year 2024-2025. Exclusions apply based on assets. EWS certificate (Annexure III) from a competent authority is required.
  • Economically Backward Class (EBC): Candidates with annual family income less than Rs. 50,000 are eligible for fee concession (not job reservation). Must have a valid income certificate (Annexure IV) or BPL card or Izzat MST issued by the closing date.
  • Horizontal Reservation: Provided for Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
  • PwBD Scribe Assistance: Eligible PwBD candidates (specific categories like Blindness, Locomotor Disability (BA), Cerebral Palsy, or those with less than 40% disability but writing difficulty) may avail scribe assistance. Scribe must be registered at rrbapply.gov.in and their educational qualification must be one step below the candidate's. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided.
  • Free Train Travel Facility: Admissible to SC/ST candidates only, upon request and uploading of a valid caste certificate during the online application.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates are strongly advised to visit only official RRB websites for authentic information and regular updates.
  • Any attempt to submit more than one application by a candidate against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment from all future examinations of RRBs and RRCs.
  • 'Create an Account' details (mobile number and email ID, chosen RRB) cannot be modified after account creation.
  • Applications with blurred, illegible, or non-standard photographs and/or signatures are liable to be rejected.
  • Uniform signatures are required across all stages of recruitment.
  • Candidates found resorting to unfair means or submitting false information will be debarred for life and may face legal prosecution under "The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024."
  • Serving employees must apply after informing their employer and produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Document Verification.
